This little SW1 has been working the old Great Western Sugar processing plant in Johnstown forever. Dont know the exact rep marks for it so listed it here as 'CSG' [Colorado Sweet Gold {corn}] I had refrained from taking it's photo for so long as the security around the place seems to be quite 'cold' towards photography. However, i was there on a quiet sunday and everything seem to be buttoned up, so I poked my lens through the chain link and got this one shot! [Came out much better than i initially thought..original was somewhat overexposed and grainy!! {Thx. Fujifilm!!}] |

NS 8339 was 'born' June 1990 as Conrail 6094. She remained in CR Blue until mid 2008 before getting a coat of NS Black. I know this site has many NS fans, and from the many photos I've seen these black beauts can be tricky to photograph at times. Keeping that in mind, I overexposed my shot a bit and had the help of some spotty snow on the ground to brighten things up a little! |

On November 9 I took advantage of what was likely our last day of really nice weather for the season and found this sweet little mishap on the GW at Kelim.. -It was not until later during the photo edit that I noticed; 1. "Hey, there's damage on this car!" 2. "Hey, there's a full blown Elk under the tree!!" -turns out the Elk is auctually a well placed sculpture on somebody's well heeled bit of pasture. The Rocky Mountain backdrop though, Colorado awesome!! -That's 14,000+ foot Long's Peak back there! |

Until today i was blissfully unaware the UP had these Olymipc Torch units..a check here in RRPA showed 7 pages of photos for the 2001, so she's been quite a head turner! Apperanty this is her 1st. RRPA photo for 2015. 'Caught her sitting away the day in Greeley with 9751 and a parked ballast train, which had been sitting here for the better part of 2 weeks..making it possible the 2001 had been here all along right under my nose!! |

The 6012 shows evidence of 3 owners -original Soo [hats off..] boldly showing under the later [for a time leased to] INRD logo, itself defying the white patch job CEFX applied when they got the unit. |
