With the sun setting and CN and TPW all quiet, we decided it was time to head west toward our hotel. US 24 is the best route to take into Peoria from Gilman, so we ended up following the tracks, despite the M train being tied down in La Hogue. We made one final stop in Cruger to take photos of the UP end cab switcher that is used to work the elevator before calling it a day. To say we really made up for yesterday would be an understatement. What a day! Hoping tomorrow is just as good! |
