Description:  Portraits 2. Here is a steam locomotive portrait via F.R. Kern that was taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, c. 1938. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9714, an E-7S (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built by the American Locomotive Company as E-2A number "7372" during 1903, reclassified as an E-2B in 1904, renumbered "9714" in July of 1913, rebuilt as an E-7S in November of 1916, and retired in April of 1939 after 36 years of faithful service.
