PRR 9834, EFP-15, 1956
Title:  PRR 9834, EFP-15, 1956
Description:  Dziobko. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dzobko, Jr., that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania on 16 August 1956. Prominent here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9834 and #9547. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9834 is an EFP-15 constructed in April of 1952. #9547 was built as an EH-15 in November of 1948, later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15A, and retired in December of 1963. In this context, they're waiting for their next assignments while parked under Juniata's 17th Street Bridge. ("PrrFan18n")

PRR 9838, EF-15A, 1965
Title:  PRR 9838, EF-15A, 1965
Description:  Winter. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 03 January 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #9838, #9844-B, and #9834. All are EFP-15's built by EMD in 1952 and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. They are pulling an 83-car train under the 4th Street Bridge, and are about to begin climbing the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. Bringing-up the rear are "pushers" #8667, #8666, and #8669. Visible on the left are a telephone box and a venerable black water tower, the last sign of the "Age of Steam" in this part of town.
