New Orleans Public Service car 954 was parked at the outer end of the CLAIBORNE line, on South Claiborne Avenue at South Carrollton. This car line was replaced with buses on 5 January 1953. The 954 had been built by the Perley A. Thomas Car Works in 1924 and is still in use on the St. CHARLES line in 2020. |

This photo was taken at the outer end of New Orleans Public Service's St. Charles Line, on South Carrollton Avenue at South Claiborne. Car 954 was just beginning its trip to the Central Business District. Tulane Route AM General bus 438 would also be going to the CBD, but via a different direction. In the background, car 907 was moving up to take the 954's place at the end of the line. Car 962 was already at the bumper, but the motorman hadn't yet reversed its poles for the inbound trip back to Canal Street. |
