Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5769 and another E-8 whose road number is not recorded. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5769 was constructed in May of 1952. In this context, this A-A set is departing the Tyrone Station with a passenger train bound for Altoona and points West. The white smoke plume in the right-distance marks the location of the Paper Mill in downtown Tyrone. ("PrrFan18n")

All were built by GM-EMD. #5859 is an EP-20 constructed in February of 1948 and rated at 2,000 horsepower, while #5769 is an EP-22 built in May of 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower.. In this context, this A-A-A-A quartet is rounding the Curve on its way down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East with a mail-express train. ("PrrFan18n")
