Five GP38-2s stand gaurd on this old Gulfport Ms. to Hattiesburg Ms. line with a cut of flat cars while Hurricane Gustav hammers on the area. The weather has put dampers on the area and has flooded parts of the railroad system in this region. Although not as bad as Katrina and Cameal of years past. This set of power with two KCS white units and two leased HLCX GP38-2 and one KCS gray unit will have plenty of work to do after the passing of the storm. My travels to this region was brought on by a emergancy Fema load of generaitors I pulled in from Montgomery Al. The weather was no doubt less than desirable with high winds and heavy rain in areas. |
