Title:  KCS gray quad passes pair of Belle's (old and new)
Description:  In the middle of Shreveport along Interstate 49, there is a short stretch of KCS double track that gives me the illusion of being in a rural, mountain foothills area. In reality, the busy interstate is on the right and a somewhat rough residential neighborhood is to the photographer's left. "New meets old" as four gray KCS units pass by a freight led by two Retro Belles. The freight has just negotiated the sharp S curve.

Title:  Artful Dodger
Description:  The Joplin Dodger runs towards 15th St in Joplin as it heads for work at the M&NA interchange downtown. It'll keep the mainline clobbered for another 40 minutes before returning home to Pittsburg while two other trains wait for its to finish its work. KCS 1914 and 2964 are followed by MNA 4014, which will be dropped at the interchange.

Description:  The Watts Dodger is returning to its home base in Watts after working north for the afternoon, rolling out from under a tall storm cloud as it hustles 20 cars back to Watts. Description:  Two Belle painted 4 axle units bracket a gray GP 40 on todays edition of the Watts based dodger, seen here from Kenwood St as it works Pipelife Jetstream. Pipelife gets covered hoppers full of plastic pellets to make PVC pipe. The tanks behind the power are vegetable oil, most likely going to Little Debbie in Gentry. Bring on the oatmeal creme pies!!

Description:  The dodger comes over the short grade south of Decatur with 13 cars after working the Simmons Foods plant just north of town. Road trains often struggle here, as the grade is rather stiff, even if short. This job with three units on a short train, marched right over the top.

Description:  One of the primary customers on this job is McKee Foods. If that name doesnt sound familiar, you probably know them by their product: Little Debbie Cakes. They have a plant in Gentry that receives a variety of ingredients by rail. The dodger can spend a fair amount of time here. I caught it late in the day, just as the light was going.
