Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad GP30 952 eastbound at Naperville, Illinois on April 28, 1965, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built April 1962 (c/n 27163) on EMD Order 7621 (for 20 units, #'s 940-969), it became BN 2229 and was retired in January 1987. This was the rear unit of a light engine move, and I was clearly on the wrong side of the tracks for this shot. However, it does illustrate faithful obedience to Rule 19 (a) which reads: 19. The following signals will be displayed to indicate the rear of every train, as markers, to indicate the rear of the train: (a) By day, marker lamps not lighted, or green flags, in places provided. |
