Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9471, an FF-20 built by Fairbanks-Morse in March of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in March of 1963 after just 15 years of revenue service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Fairbanks-Morse and Lima Diesels ~ Eastern and Canadian Roads" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (902-40). |
