Kern. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred R. Kern that was taken near Duncannon, Pennsylvania, on 4 July 1955. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4618, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during October of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in December of 1935, and retired in February of 1960 after 37 years of faithful service. Looks to me like it's deadheadin' East to Enola. |
