Description:  A damaged print of S-2 101, the first of 19 owned by Rio Grande. 101 was built by ALCo in September 1941. It was retired in April 1966 and sold to Precision Engineering where it was scrapped.

Title:  D&RGW S2 101
Description:  D&RGW S2 101 at Alamosa, Colorado on August 17, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built by Alco in September 1941 (c/n 69555), this particular locomotive was equipped with dual couplers on the rear, one offset and lower, for switching narrow gauge cars around the yard in Alamosa. The front had a unique sliding coupler that could be adjusted offset up or down with the aid of a power mechanism to accommodate either gauge. Electro-Motive SW1200 131 also had dual gauge couplers installed during 1966.
