ICG GP35 2539 in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in January 1982, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 2539 was built in August 1965 as GM&O GP35 641 (c/n 30268) on EMD Order 7794. later becoming ICG 2539. It was rebuilt by VMV (Paducah, Kentucky) during October 1990 to BN GP39V 2983. Also seen is CN SD40 5210, class GF-30k, built by GMD during September 1971 (c/n A2527) on order C338, sold for scrap during December 2002. As I recall, both trains were stopped for a BRC train passing behind me. The Stevenson Expressway (I55) is to the left, I was driving by and noticed the two trains, so I pulled over to snap this photo. |
